One of the best friteries of Brussels, the very long queue to take a fried package at any time of day speaks for itself.
In the 18th century, travelers stopped at the Barrière de Saint-Gilles . The location was strategic. The municipal authorities do not deprive the exploit: a right is established quickly. Hence the current name. For over 30 years, the fritkot of Barrière de Saint-Gilles continues the tradition. Tourists, residents, passersby, pilgrims, all stopping to tithe in exchange for valuable horn.
